Matheson Lake

Enjoyed one of my favourite hikes around Matheson Lake on Friday. I love the quietness of the lake and how you never have to stop too long before you catch sight of an eagle flying by, a woodpecker tapping into a tree or hear the frogs amongst the lily pads.

As we made our way around the lake, we kept commenting on how different it all looked and felt from when we were last there in the Winter.  These are some shots from our trip in the winter. Frost and snow  in patches in forest floor and  the shaded portions of the lake covered with ice that was just beginning to crack. I loved the way the light danced off the top of the ice.
